Eligibility Criteria for MBBS Admission at Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College
- Students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations from a recognized Board or University. They must have passed the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually with a minimum of 50% marks. The minimum qualifying mark for students belonging to SC/ST or OBC is 40%. For the students with locomotor disability of lower limbs as prescribed by the MCI, the minimum qualifying mark is 45% taken together in the qualifying examination.
- Students must have qualified NEET 2023 examination and obtained minimum marks of 50th percentile in the ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test’ held for the academic year 2023-24. However, in respect of students belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the minimum mark is the 40th percentile. Considering students with locomotor disabilities of lower limbs as defined by the MCI, the minimum mark is the 45th percentile. If the Government of India / MCI modifies the percentile of marks mentioned above, the revised percentile shall be applicable for respective categories.
Eligibility Criteria for the Self-financed and NRI/ NRI Sponsored Seats of Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College
- Self-financed Seats: Priority will be given to the domicile of Bihar. If seats remain vacant, then the seats will be filled with eligible candidates of other states’ domicile. The admission shall be based on merit only and reservation policy for admission shall be as per Govt of Bihar.
- NRI/NRI Sponsored Seats: The eligibility for admission under the NRI Quota seats will be NRI candidates themselves or children of NRI whose parents are residents of Bihar and must fulfill all the eligibility requirements and criteria prescribed for admission under the General category.
QUALIFICATION & ELIGIBILITY FOR MD / MS / PG DIPLOMA COURSES GROUP
Educational Criteria:
(i) Candidates are required to have completed the MBBS Examination from any Medical College in Bihar State, either established or financially aided by the State Government or established and operated by private management/corporation, and included in the schedule of the Medical Council of India/National Medical Commission.
(ii) Candidates who are permanent residents/domiciled in Bihar and were admitted to the MBBS course through competitive examinations conducted by the Govt. of Bihar or by CBSE (under All India Quota) before the bifurcation of Bihar on 15.11.2000, in Medical Colleges located in Jharkhand, and have obtained the MBBS degree are eligible for nomination/allotment of a seat for admission in the academic session 2023.
(iii) Candidates must have completed a one-year compulsory rotating Internship as of 30.06.2023, as per the provisions outlined by MCC vide letter no.- F.No. U-12021/01/2022-MEC dated 02.02.2023.
(iv) Candidates must possess permanent Registration from the National Medical Commission or Bihar State Medical Council. Those who haven’t obtained permanent Registration but are otherwise eligible can participate in PG Medical Counseling 2023 on a provisional basis. However, they must obtain permanent Registration within one month from the date of admission to the PG Course, as per the rules of the National Medical Commission.
Residential Criteria:
Candidates must be citizens of India.
Other Criteria:
A candidate who is not a permanent resident of Bihar but has passed the MBBS Examination from any Medical College in Bihar State, established or financially aided by the State Government or operated by private management/corporation and included in the schedule of the National Medical Commission, is also eligible.
Age Limit:
There is no maximum age limit for appearing in PG Medical Counselling 2023.
No Objection Certificate:
Candidates in employment, either in Government or elsewhere, will be allowed to participate in PG Medical Counselling 2023 only if they produce a “no objection” certificate from their employer. A candidate employed by the Government of Bihar will be issued an admit card provisionally in the absence of such a certificate. However, upon selection, the candidate must produce a relieving certificate from their controlling officer or furnish an undertaking/affidavit stating their commitment to resign from the service if selected.
Training:
(i) All selected candidates must register with the Bihar Council of Medical Registration/National Medical Commission within one month from the date of admission to the PG Course and must also be registered by the concerned University within the prescribed period.
(ii) The compulsory Rotating Internship must be completed at a Hospital/Institution approved and recognized by the NMC.
(iii) No admission or readjustment will be done after the last date of admission, as per the requirements of the National Medical Commission. Any vacant seats after that shall be considered lapsed, and no transfer/migration will be permissible after admission.
(iv) Candidates admitted based on PG Medical Counselling based on NEET (PG)-2023 will forfeit their claim to continue in the previous PG Course. Their name registered for that PG Course will be canceled, and they must refund the entire stipend amount received for the previous PG Course to the previous institution upon admission to the new PG Course.
(v) Admitted candidates who remain absent continuously for more than two months may forfeit their claim to continue in the previous PG Medical course. Their name registered for that PG Medical course will be canceled, and they must refund the entire stipend amount received for the previous PG Medical course to the previous institution upon admission to the new PG Medical course.
RESERVATION
(i) The selection of candidates for admission to Post Graduate Degree/Diploma Courses, including MD/MS/PG Diploma/DNB Courses in Government Medical Colleges, will adhere to the reservation policy/rules established by the Government of Bihar as of the date of online submission of Application Forms for PG Medical Counselling 2023. The determination of reservation categories will be based on the SC, ST, EBC, and BC lists approved by the Government of Bihar and applicable on the date of online submission of application forms for the allotment of PG Medical seats through PG Medical Counselling based on NEET (PG)-2023.
(ii) For candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar State, the reservation of seats for various categories, by the Government of Bihar’s policy prevailing at the date of PG Medical Counselling 2023, is outlined as follows:

Bihar MBBS Counseling 2024
The Bihar MBBS 2024 counseling will be conducted through online means in two phases. Candidates who have made it to the merit list will be eligible to participate in the counseling process for Bihar MBBS seat allotment. They need to fill in their choices, and a list of required documents must be presented for verification. Throughout the online Bihar MBBS counseling in 2024, candidates will use their UGMAC ID and Password, created during Bihar MBBS registration, to indicate their preferences for colleges and courses. The Bihar NEET admission for 2024 will be determined based on the choices made by candidates, their state merit position, the total number of government medical seats in Bihar, reservation criteria, and other relevant factors.

Procurement for Application Form, Prospectus, Counselling Fee, and Security Deposit
The Prospectus for participation in PGMAC-2024 will be available for download on the BCECE Board’s website: bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. To access the Prospectus, click on the “PGMAC-2024” link under the Prospectus section. To complete the online application form, click on the “Online Application portal of PGMAC-2024” and then select the “Apply Online” button. Follow the instructions outlined below:
I. Step-One – Registration:
– Enter the required information in Step One of the application form on the computer screen.
– Provide your NEET-PG 2024 Roll No. And verify by clicking on the verify button.
– Enter your Date of Birth and click OK to verify details.
– Upon successful verification, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile no. and email ID.
– After verifying the OTP, proceed with further processes.
– All registration-related information will be sent to your registered email ID and mobile number.
– Upon successful Registration, you will receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile no. and email.
– Log in to your account using your NEET-PG-2023 Application no. and Password for further activities and to submit the online application form.
– Keep your Password confidential to avoid any unauthorized changes or complications.
II. Step-Two – Personal Information:
– Sign in to your account after successful Registration.
– Complete the required entries for personal information on the computer screen.
– Click on the “Save & Continue” button.
III. Step Three – Upload Photo and Signature:

VII. Step-Seven (Payment of Counselling Fee and Security Deposit):
– Click “Proceed to Payment” after previewing the application form.
– Complete the payment procedure for the counseling fee and security deposit as per instructions on the computer screen.
The counseling fee is non-refundable.
– Pay the refundable security deposit according to the table provided for Government/Private Medical Colleges.
– Pay processing charges in addition to the Counselling/Registration Fee and Security Deposit for online payment.
VIII. Step-Eight (Downloading of Part-A & Part-B):
– After payment, download the Hard Copy (Part-A & Part-B) of the online submitted Application Form.
– Keep the hard copy for use during counseling.
– Note that the hard copy need not be sent to the Board’s office but must be presented at the time of counseling.
– There is no provision for changes or modifications after the date of editing and submitting the online application form.
– After submission, withdrawal or refund requests will not be entertained.
Note: DQ candidates must submit a DQ certificate issued by authorized Centers/Institutes on the prescribed proforma at the time of counseling/document verification. Consult an authorized Medical College/Centre/Institute for a disability test after filling out and downloading the hard copy of the online application form. Certificates from other Institutes/Centers will not be accepted, and candidates are responsible for ensuring the correct certification.
METHOD OF SELECTION AND ADMISSION
Merit List
a) The merit list, compiled by the Deptt. Of Health, Govt. of Bihar based on NEET (PG)-2024, will be the foundation for PGMAC-2023.
b) Four rounds of Counseling, namely Round-1, Round-2, Round-3, and Stray Vacancy Round, will be conducted.
c) All rounds of Counseling, including Round-1, Round-2, Round-3, and Stray Vacancy Round, will be conducted online.
d) Fresh Online Registration and submission of Application Form will be undertaken for Round-3 Online Counselling from candidates who did not register and submit the Application Form of PGMAC-2024 before the 1st round of Counselling. Details will be provided through the concerned Advertisement.
(i) (a) Based on the merit list of eligible candidates:
– Candidates must fill in their choices online for PGMAC-2024 counseling.
– Registration and choice filling facilities will be available as per the schedule published in the concerned Advertisement.
– After the completion of the choice-filling process, seat allotment results will be published on the Board’s website.
– If a candidate is allotted a seat during the 1st round, they must report physically at the reporting center for document verification.
– After document verification, if found eligible, the candidate may either take admission or opt for free exit.
– Candidates giving willingness for upgradation during the downloading of the 1st round provisional seat allotment order will wait for the 2nd round seat allotment, and their documents will be retained at the reporting center.
– If the choice is upgraded in Round 2, the candidate must join the college on the allotted seat during the second round. Failure to join within the scheduled period will result in forfeiture of the refundable security deposit.
(i) (b) Fresh choice filling can be done for Round-2 & Round-3 by those candidates:
(i) Who completed the registration process for Round-1 / Round-2 but did not fill the choices.
(ii) Who have been allotted a seat in Round 1 but have taken free exit.
(iii) Fresh Registration-cum-choice filling can be done for Round-2 & Round-3 by those candidates who have not completed the registration process during earlier Rounds due to any reason.
(i) (c) Modification in the choice filling can be done for Round-2 & Round-3 by those candidates:
(i) Who filled the choices in Round 1 but were not allotted any seats.
(ii) Who filled the choices in Round-1, were allotted a seat but gave willingness for upgradation.
(iii) Who filled the choices in Round-2, were allotted a seat but gave willingness for upgradation.
Admitted candidates of Round 2 opting for Round 3 can do so with forfeiture of their security deposit.
(i) (d) Last Round will be the Stray Vacancy round:
– Candidates must make Fresh Registration with a security deposit and fill in New Choices for this round.
– Candidates admitted through Round-1 & Round-2 and those allotted a seat through NEET(PG)-2024 in Round-3 anywhere in India are not eligible for this round per NMC (MCC) guidelines.
(i) (e) Based on online choice filling:
A provisional seat allotment order will be issued.
– Final seat allotment/admission will be subject to verification of identity and original certificates at the reporting center fixed by the Board.
(i) (f) Before downloading the provisional seat allotment order:
– Candidates wanting to upgrade their allotted seat must give willingness for upgradation as “Yes” or “No.”
(i) (g) If a candidate wants to avail of free exit from the allotted seat in round 1:
– The candidate must report at the reporting center for document verification and submit their original documents.
– For free exit, the candidate must inform the head of the institution in writing, and all certificates will be returned. The seat allotted will be declared vacant for allotment in 2nd round. Free exit candidates are eligible for allotment in the 2nd round. If the candidate is allotted the same seat in round 2 but does not join, their security deposit will be forfeited.
(i) (h) If a candidate has opted for Upgradation in Round 1:
– If the seat of Round 1 is retained in Round 2, it will now be treated as a Round 2 seat.
(i) (i) A candidate who has filled choices online:
