NEET UG Counselling 2025: MCC Extends Round 1 Resignation Deadline to August 25 and Delays NEET UG 2025 Round 2 Counselling

NEET UG counselling 2025 round 1 seat resignation deadline has been extended by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to August 25. Candidates can now withdraw their seats without losing the security deposit. Those issued seat confirmation letters must submit their resignation physically at the allotted college. Owing to this extension, the commencement of Round 2 counselling has been postponed, and the revised schedule will be announced soon.

NEET UG Counselling 2025 Round 1 Resignation Deadline Extended & Round 2 Counselling Delayed

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has again postponed the start of NEET UG 2025 Round 2 counselling, which was initially scheduled for August 22, 2025. The postponement follows the extension of the Round 1 resignation deadline to August 25, leaving candidates awaiting the updated schedule for the next round of admissions.

The counselling process has already experienced several delays this year, similar to earlier admission cycles. Round 1 seat allotment, originally expected on August 3, was only released on August 12 after repeated extensions in registration, choice filling, and locking. Responding to requests from candidates, MCC has reopened the resignation window for Round 1 seats, allowing withdrawals without forfeiture of the security deposit.

According to the official notice, students wishing to surrender their Round 1 reported seats may do so between August 21 (11:00 AM) and August 25 (5:00 PM). The decision was taken after several candidates expressed the need to withdraw from their allotted seats due to personal or academic circumstances, with MCC confirming that no security deposit will be deducted for resignations made within this extended period.

NEET UG 2025 Round 2 Counselling Schedule

Earlier, registrations for Round 2 counselling were planned to start on August 21, 2025. However, with the extension of the Round 1 seat resignation deadline, the updated timetable for Round 2 will be released shortly on the official portal. Candidates taking part in the second round of NEET UG counselling are advised to visit mcc.nic.in for the revised schedule and detailed information.
