NEET UG 2025 counselling process is expected to begin in the fourth week of July 2025, roughly a month after the result is declared, or by August at the latest. As per the National Testing Agency (NTA), the NEET 2025 result will be announced by June 14, 2025. The exam took place on May 4, 2025, with around 21 lakh candidates appearing—approximately two lakh fewer than the previous year. Due to the high difficulty level of this year’s exam, the NEET 2025 cutoff scores are anticipated to be lower, although the percentile thresholds will remain unchanged.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling process in an online format, except for the final phase, which involves physical reporting at the allotted institution for document verification and admission confirmation. There will likely be five to six rounds of NEET 2025 counselling, and additional rounds may be held if seats remain vacant.
NEET 2025 counselling is organized in two categories: the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and the 85% State Quota (SQ). MCC handles the counselling for AIQ seats, while respective state authorities manage the counselling for State Quota seats.
