The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published the revised seat matrix for the second round of NEET UG 2025 counselling. This update introduces 1,134 additional seats for candidates participating in this phase. The choice-filling process for Round 2 has already begun, and applicants can log in to the MCC portal to select their preferred colleges and courses. The revised matrix reflects new seats, virtual vacancies, and clear vacancies across MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programmes under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ).
NEET UG Counselling Round 2 Seat Matrix
- Newly added seats: A total of 1,134 MBBS and BDS seats have been introduced by medical colleges after the completion of Round 1.
- Virtual vacancies: 7,088 seats are listed as vacant, though their status may change depending on reshuffling and upgradation.
- Clear vacancies: 13,501 seats are confirmed as vacant and are open for immediate allotment.
- Courses included: MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats are available under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ).

NEET UG Counselling 2025 Round 2 Schedule
The choice-filling for NEET UG 2025 Round 2 counselling opened on September 5, 2025, and will remain active until September 9, 2025 (11:59 pm). Candidates will have to lock their choices on September 9, 2025, between 4:00 pm and 11:55 pm. The seat allotment process is scheduled for September 10–11, 2025, with provisional results expected on September 12, 2025. Students who secure a seat must report to their allotted institutions for admission from September 13 to 19, 2025.
Steps to Fill Choices
- Go to the official website: mcc.nic.in
- Select the “New Registration 2025” option.
- Log in using your NEET UG roll number and password.
- Choose your preferred colleges and save the selections.
- Lock the choices on the final day of the process.
For NEET UG 2025 counselling under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ), 775 medical colleges are participating. This includes over 400 government institutions and more than 250 private, trust-run, and society-run colleges. In the first round, approximately 12.36 lakh candidates competed for 1,15,900 MBBS seats nationwide. The second round offers another chance for those who were not allotted a seat in Round 1 or wish to upgrade their previous allotment.

In NEET UG 2025 counselling, a total of 775 medical colleges are participating through the 15% All India Quota (AIQ). These include over 400 government colleges, 32 private colleges, 13 government (society) institutions, 44 society-run colleges, and more than 250 trust-managed colleges.
