College Campus
The CMC Vellore Campus, located on the southern outskirts of Vellore city, is a 200-acre site at the base of college hill. Constructed in 1932, it was designed to be a residential community where students and staff can study and live in a peaceful and beautiful environment. The central college chapel opens onto a sunken garden and connects to the Women’s Hostel and various classrooms through quiet stone corridors.
Hostels, administrative buildings, teaching and research facilities, staff residences, guest houses, playing fields, and more are spread among tall trees and winding roads. From the morning birdsong to the buzz of classes during the day, the sounds of music and games, vespers on Sunday evenings, and the quiet of the night under the stars, the CMC Vellore campus has been a cherished home for generations of students and faculty for over 80 years.
Hostel
Established in 1932, the women’s hostel at the CMC Vellore holds a rich history as one of the earliest buildings. Dr. Ida Scudder, our Founder, oversaw the planning and design to create a beautiful living space. Nestled in the green Campus, it has earned the name ‘Paradise on Earth.’ Over the years, generations of young women have discovered their voices within its sacred walls.
While the hostel has been adapted for modern needs, it retains a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It is managed by the Women’s Hostel Association and features amenities like a gymnasium, a gift from the 1985 alumni batch, and lower and upper common rooms. The men’s hostel at CMC Vellore, constructed in 1953 for male medical students, is overseen by the Men’s Hostel Association and is located across the road from the main campus.
Hostel Fees for Men: Rs 10,000
Hostel Fees for Women: Rs 8,000
