About AIIMS, New Delhi
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is an independent Institute of National Importance. Founded under a Parliamentary Act in 1956, its roles and objectives were formally outlined. Under this legislation, AIIMS has the authority to grant its own medical degrees, diplomas, and academic certifications. These qualifications are officially recognized under the National Medical Commission Act (2019) (listed as SI. No. 2 of Schedule, Section 37(1)).
AIIMS, New Delhi, operates as a residential university, with faculty, staff, and students residing on campus. The institute provides 11 hostels for undergraduate students— 7 for boys and 4 for girls— with a total capacity of 848 students.

AIIMS Delhi offers a total of 132 MBBS seats. Of these, 55 seats are allotted to candidates from the General category, 32 are reserved for OBC candidates, 18 for SC, and 9 for ST. Additionally, 7 seats are designated for foreign nationals. The reservation policy prescribed by the Government of India is applicable at AIIMS. The Medical Counseling Committee will manage the reservation roster, which includes a 5% quota for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, and this will be implemented for AIIMS New Delhi.

Indian Nationals:
Age | Candidates must have completed or must complete 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the admission year (2025). Those born on or before December 31, 2007, are eligible to apply. |
Academic Qualification | Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination under the 10+2 system, Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE), or Intermediate/Pre-Degree in Science, or an equivalent exam from a recognized board or university in India. The qualifying subjects must include English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Students who have studied Biology as an additional subject at the 10+2 level are also eligible to appear for the MBBS entrance exam, as per the Delhi High Court Order No. 2341/-W/DHC/WRITS/D-1/2019 dated 24.09.2019 in Writ Petition (C) No. 6773/2019. Candidates who have appeared or are currently appearing for the qualifying examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects, and expect to achieve the required marks (as mentioned in point no. 03 below), may also apply. However, their eligibility will be confirmed only upon submission of valid proof of passing the qualifying exam with the required subjects and marks. If a candidate’s qualifying examination from an Indian or foreign university is to be treated as equivalent to the 10+2 system or Intermediate Science examination, they must provide a certificate from the respective Indian university or the Association of Indian Universities confirming this equivalence. |

AIIMS Delhi MBBS Cutoff 2025
The AIIMS Delhi MBBS 2025 cutoff, including opening and closing ranks, will be released following the conclusion of NEET 2025 counselling, which is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). AIIMS Delhi MBBS Compulsory Internship Training
Upon successfully clearing the Final MBBS Examination, candidates must undergo a compulsory internship of 12 months at hospitals and rural health centers recognized by AIIMS. During this internship, interns are permitted a maximum of 15 days of leave throughout the year. (Any changes to the internship guidelines will be announced separately.) The MBBS degree will be conferred only after the internship is completed satisfactorily.
