MBBS Eligibility Criteria
1. Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Foreign Nationals are eligible for the NEET UG 2024.
2. The candidate must be 17 years old at the time of admission or will reach this age on or before December 31 of the admission year for the 1st year M.B.B.S/B.D.S. course.
3. The upper age limit for MBBS/BDS admission is 25 years on the date of examination, with a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates and individuals entitled to reservation under the Right of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
4. Candidates must pass Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually. A minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology combined is required for the qualifying examination. For SC/ST/Category I candidates, the minimum aggregate is 40%. Candidates with benchmark disabilities must secure 45% (General) or 40% (SC/ST/OBC) in the mentioned subjects.
5. Two years of regular and continuous study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology at the 10+2 level is mandatory.
6. Candidates from Open Schools or Private candidates are ineligible.
7. Studying Biology/Bio-technology as an Additional Subject at the 10+2 level is not permissible.
8. Candidates appearing in the current year’s Class XII examination can provisionally appear for the entrance test, subject to later fulfillment of conditions.
9. Candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are eligible for 15% All India Quota seats from the academic year 2018-19 onward, as these states have decided to contribute their MBBS/BDS seats for allotment.
Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), and People of Indian Origin (PIO):
1. Age Requirement:
– Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of December 31st of the admission year.
2. Educational Qualifications:
– Applicants must have successfully passed the 12th standard or its equivalent.
– A minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined is required.
3. Language Proficiency:
– Proficiency in English is mandatory, and candidates should have passed English as one of the subjects.
4. Reserved Quota:

PG Eligibility Criteria
- To be qualified for admission, the candidate must have scored equal to or above the minimum score prescribed in NEET PG 2024.
- The candidate must have completed their MBBS course from a recognized institution approved by NMC respectively.
- The candidate must have completed or is completing their Compulsory Rotating Internship.
- The eligibility criteria for SC / ST / OBC / Linguistic minorities are applicable as per the State Government policy. However, if any OBC candidate of Karnataka has yet to claim OBC in NEET PG 2024, they can claim the respective category in KEA.
- A PG degree candidate in any clinical specialty is not eligible for admission to any Post Graduate Degree Course.
- Candidates who have obtained their undergraduate medical qualifications from medical colleges outside India must have qualified in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by the National Board of Examinations. They should also be registered with NMC and have completed their internship or will likely complete it.
Students, except those with a background from RGUHS, are required to present an eligibility certificate by the University before the stipulated admission deadline.

Entrance Exam

MVJ Medical College Internship
Upon completing their 3rd Professional (Part-II) Final Examination, students of MVJ Medical College must undergo a compulsory 12-month internship at the Institute rotating. Graduates are expected to apply theoretical knowledge to practical skills under supervision, making themselves competent enough to handle all emergencies and provide basic medical consultation independently.
The Internship program is tailored to enable the graduate to diagnose and treat common clinical diseases, make appropriate referrals to higher-level healthcare facilities, and efficiently use essential drugs, infusions, blood, or its substitutes and laboratory services. Additionally, the graduate is trained to handle medical, surgical, obstetric, neonatal, and pediatric emergencies and develops leadership skills to lead the health team.
The internship program also focuses on monitoring the National Health Programs and schemes to provide preventive and promotive healthcare services to the community, providing services to chronically sick and disabled patients, and developing effective communication skills with patients and the community.
To be awarded an MBBS degree, a student must complete the full duration of the internship program.
Compulsory Rural Service for One Year
All individuals admitted to the medical course are required to undergo one year of compulsory rural service in a government hospital, by the Karnataka Compulsory Service Training by Candidates Completed Medical Courses Act, 2012, as amended on 27/09/2017, and the Karnataka Compulsory Service by Candidates Completed Medical Courses (Counseling, Allotment, and Certification) (Amendment) Rules, 2017.
It is important to note that candidates will only receive temporary registration until the completion of this service, and permanent registration will not be granted until the service is fulfilled. Candidates allocated Medical Seats through KEA, both in Government and Private Medical colleges, must submit an affidavit to the principal of the respective college at the time of admission. This affidavit, drafted on a one hundred Rupees e-stamp paper, should be signed by the candidate and the parent, following the format provided on the KEA website, affirming their commitment to one year of rural service post the course completion.

2. Login and Data Entry:
– Log in using the assigned USER ID and Password.

3. Document Upload:
– Upload scanned copies of a recent passport-size color photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression in JPG / JPEG format.
4. Verification and Declaration:

Option Entry by Candidates for Karnataka NEET Counseling 2024
Procedure for Option Entry:
1. Entry of options will commence once the Government notifies the seat matrix. College-wise, course-wise, and category-wise seat details will be available on the KEA website (http://kea.kar.nic.in/ugneet2023.htm) for download and printing.
2. Only candidates eligible after document verification can enter options. Choices can be made among the displayed seats for each college, category, and course during option entry.
3. Options can be entered for both Medical and Dental disciplines simultaneously. The candidate needs to enter the secret key and a valid password to access the option entry form.
4. The candidate must select the discipline in the entry form (Medical or Dental), which then displays the list of corresponding colleges. Priority numbers are assigned to the preferred colleges.

“I am satisfied with the allotted seat and am willing to report to the allotted college; therefore, I should not be considered for further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any college/discipline. I will pay the prescribed fees for the seat allotted by downloading the e-Challan or NEFT/RTGS/IMPS Challan or through the online payment gateway as per the procedure detailed on the KEA Website.
I will deposit the original documents and later download the admission order to report to the college. Immediately afterward, I will log in to my Option Entry Log-In-Id and inform KEA that I have joined the college. The college authority must also log in to their College Login ID and report that I have joined the college. Failure to report back to KEA about joining the college will result in the cancellation of the seat, even if physically joined.
Furthermore, if I have paid the fees, obtained the Admission Order, and failed to report to the college on or before the last date and time specified by KEA in the Admission Order, no extension of time will be granted. The allotment made in my favor shall be treated as canceled, and I will have no further claim on such allotment. I will not be considered for the allotment of seats in subsequent rounds, and such seats will revert to the pool, with the forfeit of the fees paid.
Implication: Not eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds.
Important: Before opting for this choice, I am advised to confirm that I cannot return to the Option Entry Process in UGNEET-2024/UGCET-2024.”

There is no choice between the earlier allotted and newly allotted seats. I must compulsorily join the selected college allotted in the second-round seat allotment without providing any reasons/excuses.
Important: Fresh options will be permitted only for the new college/courses included in the seat matrix after the first-round allotment, specifically for the newly added college/course.”

General Instructions for Mop-Up Round Counselling:
1. Candidates allotted any Medical seat in the First Round (Choice 1 & 2) or Second Round are not eligible to participate.
2. Candidates allotted seats under All India Quota / Deemed University / ESIC / any state boards, etc., are not eligible to participate.
3. Candidates who did not exercise any option in the first or second round are not eligible for the mop-up round.
4. Candidates who joined the college after allotment in the All India Counseling, including Counseling for Deemed Universities, are not eligible for the mop-up round.
5. Candidates allotted a Dental seat through KEA can participate in the selection of a Medical seat only, not for a dental seat again.
6. Candidates registered & verified exclusively for the mop-up round are eligible.
7. Eligible candidates must register their interest in participating in the mop-up round on the KEA portal as per the schedule. They must download the entry pass for the mop-up round and produce it at the venue on the day of counseling.

Karnataka NEET PG 2024 Registration Fees

Compulsory Rural Service

Failure to report back to KEA will result in the cancellation of their seat, even if they have physically joined the college. Candidates who have paid the fees and obtained the admission order but must report to the college by the specified date and time will not be given an extension, and their seat allotment will be considered canceled. They will not be eligible for subsequent rounds of seat allotment, and the seat will be returned to the pool. Any fee paid by such candidates will be forfeited.
Choice 2
To participate in the next Round while being satisfied with the currently allotted seat, the candidate must pay the required fees and await the schedule for submitting original documents after undergoing Biometric verification. The candidate will not receive an admission order. Suppose there is a provision for the up-gradation of the candidate’s option entry. In that case, the seat will be allotted in the Second Round, and the earlier seat will be canceled automatically. If no seat is allotted in the 2nd Round, the previously allotted seat will remain valid for the candidate.
Choice 3
Suppose the student is not fully satisfied with the current allotment to participate in the next counseling round. In that case, the previously allotted seat will be forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate. The candidate should wait for the schedule to submit the original documents before the second round of online seat allotment and wait for the second Round. However, the candidate must submit the original documents to qualify for the second-seat allotment round.
Choice 4
The candidate is relinquishing the KEA allotted seat as they have secured admission to another institution. Consequently, the candidate should not be considered for seat allotment in subsequent rounds.
Mop-up Round
If any vacant seats remain after the second round of allotment, a mop-up round may be conducted for all categories of seats. Only certain types of candidates are eligible to participate in the mop-up Round, including those who have not joined the college after being allotted seats in the first or second round of All India Counseling (subject to any conditions stipulated by the GOI) and those who have not been allotted any clinical seat in the second round of state counseling.
